🏔️🏔️ Municipality of Vaz/Obervaz — The certified “energy city” secures itself with Uepaa!

“Together. For each other.” The motto runs through the community and structure.
The Graubünden mountain community of Vaz/Obervaz is an energy pioneer and certified “energy city” and supplies electricity for 5800 companies. The award certifies that the mountain resort exemplifies and implements a sustainable municipal energy policy. This is achieved both through small projects and by equipping every new bus stop with a solar lighting system. Or through larger projects, such as the huge photovoltaic system at the Lenzerheide Sports Center, which supplies up to 186,000 kilowatt hours of electricity annually.
But for Vaz/Obervaz, the “Energy City” label also means an obligation to maintain and maintain the infrastructure in order to ensure continuous energy supply. That includes
- 8,000 water shafts
- 205km of pipes
- 30,000 water connections
- 332 hydrants
- 300 main sliders
- 300km of power lines
- 6500 power measurement points
- 133 distribution cabins
- 78 transformer stations
The uninterrupted supply of the community is in the hands of ARA, water, heat plant areas and the Elektrizitätswerk EWO the community - around the clock, day and night. The safety of employees is paramount, and the Uepaa app is now part of the game:
