In Schlattingen, Thurgau, Canexis Pharma AG processes cannabis into high-quality pharmaceutical active ingredients such as CBD and THC. What began as an ambitious start-up in 2020 is now a Swissmedic-approved pharmaceutical company with highly specialized production facilities.

Nature meets high-tech across approximately 2,000 square meters. Extraction, distillation, crystallization, and quality control are all part of the daily routine. Clean rooms, airlocks, and strictly monitored production conditions ensure that a plant is transformed into a high-quality, standardized active ingredient.

High standards here aren't just a marketing buzzword; they are a part of everyday production.

Everything is monitored. But who is looking out for the people?

Temperature, humidity, pressure levels, and production processes: at Canexis, very little is left to chance.

However, even in a state-of-the-art pharmaceutical facility, there are situations where employees work out of sight and earshot of their colleagues. This includes authorized solo work in production, process checks, or quality assurance.

A fall, a medical emergency, or an accident at a machine – and suddenly, a completely different quality question arises:

Who actually notices when someone needs help? And more importantly: where are they?

A special feature at Canexis: indoor localization.

Because GPS quickly reaches its limits inside production buildings, Canexis also uses Bluetooth beacons from our technology partner, blukii. In the event of an alarm, these allow for more precise localization within the buildings.

This allows the emergency call center not only to detect that someone needs help, but also to receive vital information about the person's location.

And all this without constant location tracking.
