🎯🎯 Axpo — Precise positioning inside the high-pressure hydroelectric power plant on Löntsch.

Secured solo work from Klöntalersee to Netstal.
Next time you swim or hike on idyllic Klöntalersee, not only look at the wonderful reflections of the mountains, but also take a look at the energy glasses. The natural lake, originally created by a subsidence and a rockfall, was dammed up to form an impressive reservoir with an earthen dam. Located at 848 m above sea level in the canton of Glarus, it is 5 km long and has an area of approximately 3.3 km².
Klöntalersee is part of the Löntsch hydroelectric power plant, whose headquarters are located in Netstal. This high-pressure storage power plant, which was built between 1905 and 1908 and renewed in 2016, uses a catchment area of 83 km² and supplies around 119 GWh of electricity per year. An overflow tower and two cone jet valves, each with a flow capacity of 23.5 m³/s, prevent flooding of the dam during floods.
Many systems are underground; GPS positioning is not possible. From the water lock with the safety throttle valve via the cable duct to the ball valves of the power plant, in the substation substation or the control center — working alone is unavoidable. More than 100 Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) beacons and the Uepaa app ensure safety and precise location in the event of an accident. Once programmed and correctly placed, these beacons send valuable information about the zone, areas, floors, i.e. the current work zones to the Uepaa app, even if the GPS signal has been interrupted for a long time.
