CBRE focuses on smart operational security

The service teams at CBRE Switzerland are on the road every day on technical facility assignments — particularly in the areas of electrical services and refrigeration technology. Whether in customer systems, technology centers or in on-call services: Employees often work alone, out of sight and calling range of other people and often outside regular operating hours.
Working alone entails specific risks in such contexts. A fall, health incident, or other emergency can quickly become critical if direct on-site support is not available.
In order to effectively address these risks, CBRE Switzerland has decided to equip the service teams in the Electrical Services and Refrigeration sector with a smart stand-alone safety solution. The implemented Uepaa Safety app discreetly accompanies employees during their assignments and ensures that reliable protection is active in the background in an emergency — without disrupting the workflow.
Safety when it matters
The new operational assurance for CBRE teams comprises central functions that are specifically tailored to situations involving working alone:
- Dead man detection according to SUVA-44094: Automatically detects critical events such as falls or inability to act and immediately triggers an alarm.
- Connection to a 24/7 emergency call center: In the event of an alarm, a professional control center is activated, which reacts around the clock and initiates appropriate measures.
- Camera help (geo-casting alert): In addition to the control center, defined internal contacts are notified who can provide quick support in an emergency.
- Reliable alarm chain even in case of poor reception: Should the mobile network be restricted, security remains active and ensures activation via the alarm center.
On-site daily emergency contact: Direct protection in everyday working life
A central role in operational security at CBRE Switzerland is played by On-site daily emergency contact, which can react immediately in the event of an incident.
If an alarm is triggered, the specified daily emergency contact is first involved via the 24/7 emergency call center. This ensures that a person who knows the situation, the location and the organizational processes is immediately involved internally.
This combination of external control center and internal contact creates a double level of security:
- Quick situational classification of the event
- Coordination with property managers or other technicians on site
- Clear escalation paths within the organization
Especially in the case of complex customer systems or assignments outside regular operating hours, the on-site daily emergency contact ensures that no time is lost in an emergency and that support can be organized in a targeted manner.
Safety culture that sustains
With the introduction of this smart operational security system, CBRE Switzerland is making it clear that the safety of its employees is a key concern. Especially when working in technically demanding environments and working alone on customer systems, the solution creates additional security and trust — for employees themselves as well as for those responsible in the background
